I haven't updated this blog for months - I tend to spend a lot of time knitting and surfing ravelry these days....hard life, eh?

I totalled about 50 - 60 hats in all for my shoebox charity. But when november came, they weren't needed! They had done an appeal in the local paper and had loads of hats with pairs of mittens to match! So, I told myself, let's practice making mittens to match. So that has been the main focus of my knitting now. Only problem is I can't find a pattern to match the basketweave style. I did make one up, but I wasn't very pleased with them...
I put 2 or 3 sets in the boxes I made up myself

Lazy knits....

I've decided to do the next hat in variegated colours.I like doing the rainbows and used to work in rows of 6 using 6 different colours, so I don't think that would look so good in a brimmed hat. I'll do the rainbows in a pull-down style but because I've been pet-sitting this weekend it was easier to do the variegated.

The sewing still awaits, but my family have arrrived unexpectedly for the weekend so I'll concentrate on the sewing up afterwards (yawns)..

Another beanie in a dark pinky-red with rainbow stripes is off-the-needles and awaiting sewing, as is the green basketweave.THEN I'll get round to publishing the next pics...promise!

I have been playing around with smiley central today, trying to find a new avatar. I'm not impressed - you copy and paste the html, then the website I'm trying to post into says it has no appropriate tags!I thought it would be a lot simpler than that...then when you go back to the image it's closed itself!Very annoying....Back to th serach engine for me....

well...

Well I decided on a royal dark green for the basketweave with white stripes.Pics to follow soon - I haven't published the photo of the pink & yellow stripy one I did yet. It's not sewn up yet but it is off the needles. I will do some more sewing up tonight when I get bored with ribbing - which doesn't take long.

Next in line is another beanie, main colour a dark red, with the 4 rainbow stripes in it.
